SAN DIEGO — One person was injured when a vehicle pursuit involving U.S. Border Patrol ended in a crash in La Mesa Wednesday night.
An SUV being pursued by Border Patrol agents collided with another vehicle on southbound state Route 125 near Spring Street.
The chase started around 8 p.m. Border Patrol officials did not say why its vehicle was pursuing the SUV, whether they made any arrests or where the chase began.
One person was taken to a hospital, according to Heartland Fire Department. The extent of their injuries was not known.
After the crash, authorities closed three lanes on the highway. Shortly before 10 p.m., all lanes had reopened.
CHP is investigating the crash.
