CosmeCon celebrates local communities, female entrepreneurs, beauty, and self-care and will be held at Parkway Plaza on Sept. 18 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. This event features “beauty-defined-by-you” events featuring female influencers and prominent San Diego businesswomen.
Other offerings include a meet an greet with the teams behind some of the most popular brands, a braid bar, VIP lounges. All proceeds for CosmeCon go to local charity The Positive Movement Foundation that supports every child in having equitable access.
Jamie Mae Cheng, CosmeCon San Diego event producer said that CosmeCon is a nationwide beauty summit, hosted by Pacific Retail properties each year.
“We are so excited that Parkway Plaza is hosting this incredible beauty summit among 13 other Pacific Retail properties across the U.S.,” she said. “We can’t wait for our San Diego community to come together on Sept. 18 and experience this inspiring event.”
Cheng said this is an event that will “lift people up and inspire them to go after their dreams.”
“Anyone passionate about beauty, lifestyle, and all things Instagram will be sure to love it,” she said.
Cheng said the driving force behind this event is for people to be inspired and for brands in the beauty, wellness, and fitness industries to come together for an experience that celebrates local communities, female entrepreneurs, personal wellness, and beauty.
“At CosmeCon, attendees will have the opportunity to join empowering women like Las Mamacitas and Channel 93.3’s Geena the Latina, along with a full Q&A panel starting at 12:30 p.m. featuring founder and host of The Wine & Chisme Podcast, Jessica Yanez and Miss New Mexico USA 2020, Cecilia Rodriguez. There will also be a meet and greet with the teams behind some of the most popular brands, like Sephora and Ulta, a braid bar, VIP lounges – and Instagrammable moments for guests to engage with,” she said.
The Q&A panel, hosted by Geena the Latina, will highlight local female entrepreneurs who will share their stories and address obstacles that they have overcome through life.
“Not only will attendees be given the opportunity to ask questions, but they will get to hear their stories and be inspired by these amazing women,” she said.
Cheng said The Positive Movement Foundation Empowers San Diego’s most vulnerable children and youth with the tools and support to create the future of their dreams. Its goal is to ensure that all children have access to the school supplies, computers, tutoring, mentoring, and overall support that they need to succeed.
“CosmeCon is an event designed to celebrate and empower local communities, which is why The Positive Movement Foundation was the perfect beneficiary for this event. The Positive Movement Foundation gives the most vulnerable children in San Diego the opportunity to chase their dreams just like any other child. CosmeCon is an event meant to lift people and show that anything is possible no matter where you come from,” said Cheng.
