The Santee Fire Department, Fire Station 4 is kicking off Fire Prevention Week by hosting its biggest event of the year, the Annual Santee Fire Department Open House on Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will have educational activities for all ages, feature firefighters conducting live emergency operation demonstrations, along with station and apparatus tours.
The event’s goal is to educate the community about the different scopes and practices firefighters encounter daily, informing the community on the various ways to help save lives through fire prevention and basic first aid with several educational components related to CPR, smoke detectors and fire extinguishers.
Fire Station 4 is at 8950 Cottonwood Ave. in Santee.
