LA MESA, Calif. — Three people were taken to a trauma center Friday morning after a vehicle crash in La Mesa caused a tree to fall onto a house.
The crash was reported around 10:30 a.m. along the 4200 block of Avocado Boulevard. The vehicles were heading in opposite directions at the time of the collision, authorities said.
Video from the scene showed the crash caused both vehicles to travel into a residential yard, causing a tree to topple onto a house.
Officials with San Miguel Fire said all three victims had to be extracted from the vehicles and were taken to a trauma center for treatment of their injuries. A mother and her baby were among the injured.
Details regarding the extent of the victims’ injuries were not immediately available.
San Miguel Fire officials said the tree that fell on the house caused minor damage. The homeowner was not at the house at the time of the crash.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
