New assistant city manager starts

Amanda Lee has joined the city of La Mesa as Assistant City Manager. Her annual salary is $208,873.60.
Lee comes to La Mesa from Vista, California where she was employed for 10 years, the last two years as Assistant City Manager.

While in Vista “Lee provided direct supervision over Homelessness and Housing, communications, code enforcement, climate action plan implementation, grants and governmental relations, and administrative support staff,” according to a statement released by the City of La Mesa. She also developed Vista’s Operating and Capital Improvement Project budgets and served as project manager for the $4 million renovation of Bub Williamson Park. From November 2022 through April 2023 Lee was Vista’s Acting City Manager.

Lee’s first day with La Mesa was April 10.
