Task force counting on volunteers

San Diego Regional Task Force on Homelessness is looking for volunteers to help with the annual Point in Time Count which is scheduled for Jan. 26.

Federally mandated by the Department of Housing and Urban development, the count requires dozens of volunteers to go out in teams and gather information from unsheltered homeless individuals they encounter in the middle of the night. That data is later considered when homelessness program funding is distributed.

Residents can sign up to volunteer at one of 36 sites across the San Diego Region.
