Overview
The Personnel Appeals Board consists of five members appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council. Members shall be resident electors of the City of La Mesa and are subject to the City’s Conflict of Interest Code.
Members are appointed for three-year terms and receive $50 per meeting as compensation for their attendance at the duly held Board meetings.
Responsibilities
The board ensures an impartial and independent review of personnel matters. Employees in the classified service may appeal certain grievances and disciplinary actions to the Personnel Appeals Board.
